Have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday.  We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, November 30th!  Then only three short weeks left in our first semester!

As everyone knows, most all of the schools around us have gone to online or remote learning.  We feel our children learn much better with in person instruction, and we also understand the strain online learning places on parents and guardians.  We will do everything possible to continue in person.  That being said, everyone must understand that we could move to online instruction at any point if powers greater than we deem it necessary.  We thank everyone for their part in keeping ACS healthy.  Most importantly, we thank God for blessing us with general good health and allowing us to stay open for as long as we have.

Thanksgiving vacation has always been a time for family and friends to gather.  As you enjoy your time together, please remember to be careful.  Please stay away from anyone who may be sick, wash your hands often, and remember that when we return to school, we share all of our social interactions with all those we come into contact with at school.  Let's be mindful and choose our actions and interactions carefully.  Thank you to each of you for doing your part.

Christmas Program: Christmas will be only a few short weeks away when we return from Thanksgiving vacation.  We know that a traditional Christmas program  will not be an option this year, so Ms. S and the teachers have decided to do a video of our program instead.  We will give you more information about how you can enjoy our children and their talents as we get closer to that time.

After Thanksgiving, Mrs. R will be reaching out to her math students to set up Zoom times for math corrections after school.  This is her personal time, so please be respectful in meeting these appointments and utilizing the time efficiently.

Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather and has a jacket before they head out the door to school.  While it often warms up in the afternoon, our morning recess can be chilly.  It is much easier to take a jacket off if one warms up, rather than trying to stay warm on a brisk morning.

Weather Cancellations  We are entering that time of the year when weather can cause a cancelation of school.  ACS follows District 6 as far as school closings due to inclement weather.  We do NOT follow any other closings they may take.  In the case of questionable weather, you can check our website, District 6, 1310 AM radio, and the crawl for the local news stations.

K-2:  Please read to or listen to your child read for a few minutes every night.  Good reading skills correlate directly to student academic success.  We have ever changing weather in Colorado!  Please check that your child is dressed for the weather, as we try to go outside every day we can.
